Quiztime

Let’s see if I remember how to do this.

Previous quiz –

All possible points go to Phantom Scribbler for getting the Schoolhouse Rock one. Don’t you guys know you’ve got to unpack your adjectives? Otherwise… erm… They’ll… stay packed. I think we all know that’s not good.

Oh, hehe – I knew I could count on luckybuzz to get Freebird.

Ah, the bonus was from Avenue Q, the Musical, and the title of the song is “What Do You Do With A B.A in English.” Ok, I just thought the title was hilarious, but you’ve gotta hear the rest of the songs. Some sample titles – “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist,” “The Internet is For Porn,” and “I’m Not Wearing Underwear Today.” Oh yeah, and it’s sung by muppets. Comedy genius there – especially the sex scene.

Alrighty then. On to the tunes!

#1 –

Got my best suit and my tie
Shiny silver dollar on either eye
I hear the chauffeur comin' to the door
Says there's room for maybe just one more

#2 –
Back to back, belly to belly
I don’t give a damn 'cause I’m stone dead already
#3 – Alright, no one knows the artist, but everyone knows the song
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"
#4
Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on Main Street.
Chicago, New York, Detroit and it's all on the same street.
Your typical city involved in a typical daydream
Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings.

#5 – Jeeze, everyone and their dog has sung this one…
Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words

#6 – oooo – toughie…
Down where this ugly man
Seeks his sustenance
Down in the blue, midnight flare
A glass hand cuts through the water
Scything into his twisted roots

#7
I said Charles, don’t you ever craze
To appear on the front of the daily mail
Blessed in your mother’s bridal veil?

#8
Oh baby you’re the only thing in this whole world
That’s pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There’s always gonna be some light

#9
And his hair was perfect.

#10

One and one-half wandering Jews
Free to wander wherever they choose
Are travelling together
In the Sangre de Cristo
The Blood of Christ Mountains
Of New Mexico

#11 - 'cause I missed yesterday :( The scariest one yet

Children behave
That’s what they say when we’re together
Bonus - Oh, jeeze, I kill myself heheh
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong

Ok, folks, which ones did I miss – I’m sure there a lot :)

Oh, and I know most of you folks won’t get this until the 1st, so, umm… sorry.

Oh great -- I finally remember to get over here first thing, and it's a weird one. No fair.

#3 -- Monster Mash Boris and the Crypt-Kickers.

#9 -- Weirwolves of London (Ah-oooooo!)

#10 -- Hearts and Bones Paul Simon. I think maybe the one-half Jew was Carrie Fisher?

#11 -- Beauty and the Beast. Betcha Phantom Scribbler knows that one, too.

Hmmm. I'm tired today and these seem hard.
#4-Truckin'; the Grateful Dead
#5-Killing me Softly; um, Linda Ronstadt?
#8-Bat Out of Hell, Meatloaf (if you had any idea how *much* Meatloaf we listen to in the basement...never mind. But it's a lot.)
#9-Werewolves of London; Warren Zevon

That's all I got...yay for the Dead AND Meatloaf! :)

I agree -- this one is *hard*! I only can get "Truckin'" and "Killing Me Softly." I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Roberta Flack on that one.

Nah, Camera Obscura, we haven't entered the dreaded Land of Disney Princesses yet. The only Disney we've got in the house is Alice in Wonderland. And I'm not really looking forward to when that changes.

I'm pretty sure that I need to see Avenue Q someday.
