It's Gotta Be The Socks

8.31km - 39'50"

New specialty running socks feel oh-so-good. Boing boing boing all the way down the trail.

Also,

Note to self:

Feeling good about your run does not make your body able to do the old army 'abs and pushup' workout you hazily remember. Doing only one quarter of said workout will make your arms feel like overcooked spaghetti and make your abs feel like more of a crushed shot glass than a six-pack.

It's really nothing that exciting, but it gets the job done for abs and all those push-up muscles. Here ya go:

2 min pushups
1 min recover
2 min situps/crunches
1 min recover
1 min pushups
30 sec recover
1 min situps
30 sec recover
30 sec pushups
15 sec recover
30 sec situps
15 sec recover

Then build back up from 30 sec to 2 minutes. The big problem is if you don't have a drill sergeant yelling at you, it's tougher to get all the way through. I set my watch to beep all the times in sequence, but I only made it down the list, not back up. I also substituted a leg lift thing for the part of the situp section.

My upper arms and pecs are unhappy today, but my abs feel ok, so maybe I should have stuck with the situps...
